Alpine Academy is pleased to offer Dual College Credit Courses through Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC). There are multiple options available for students who are focused on their future:
- Degree-seeking students will have the opportunity to focus on college classes as they work toward an associate degree.
- Career-focused students will have the opportunity to focus on the applied sciences courses as they work toward a technical degree or certification.
Eligibility Requirements
All applicants must have the following:
- A minimum 90% percent attendance rate
- Submit an Application for the Advanced Archer Program
- Letter of recommendation from one core subject teacher (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies)
- No behavioral infractions for at least one semester (students who have infractions may still be ineligible after one semester, at the discretion of administration).
- Administrative Approval
Freshmen – Freshman may be identified by staff who show academic potential and responsibility in classes. Students may be approved for TMCC college credit classes by administration. Students must complete a weekly grade check.
Sophomores and Juniors – Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and complete a weekly grade check.
Seniors – Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
Students who wish to participate in TMCC courses on the college campus must:
- Be Juniors and Seniors
- Provide their own transportation
- Take all State and school mandated tests, End of Course Exams, ACT, MAPS, Civics, i-Ready, ASVAB, and any other tests as outlined by the school
- Attend mandatory Advanced Archer Seminars as scheduled and report grades weekly to Alpine Academy
- Administrative approval
Any exception to the above criteria is within the sole exclusive discretion of the Alpine Academy administration.
Any student who fails to meet the minimum requirements must wait at least one semester, prior to reapplying.

- Friendly reminder, Jump Start students do not enroll themselves. The Jump Start staff processes all enrollment for our students.

- Please allow 3-5 business days to process a permission to enroll form.
- Check MyTMCC to make sure that you were successfully enrolled in your class.

TMCC Technical Certifications
Students who are interested in attaining a Technical Certification from Truckee Meadows may also do so. There are hundreds of Technical Certifications available. Students who are interested in taking dual college credits to become certified are encouraged to speak with administration. Because the certifications require students to complete courses at the college. Students have the same requirements to be eligible as students taking any dual credit courses.
