Board of Directors
Chris Romm serves as Chair of the Alpine Academy Charter High School Governing Board. In this role, he works alongside fellow board members and school leadership to provide responsible oversight, support the school’s mission, and promote its continued academic and organizational success. Chris is committed to strong governance, sound decision-making, and ensuring that Alpine Academy remains a welcoming school where students are supported, empowered, and prepared to achieve their goals. He values the opportunity to serve the Alpine community and contribute to the school’s continued growth.
Lauren Hayes is an educator and instructional coach with 10 years of experience serving students, teachers, and school leadership teams. She currently works at Pinecrest Academy, where she serves as an arts integration coach, provides teacher and executive coaching, supports the leadership team, and contributes to data analysis and school-culture development.
Her previous experience includes service at Doral Academy of Northern Nevada and Brookfield School. As a classroom teacher, Lauren taught humanities in grades five through eight and previously taught all core subjects in a self-contained classroom.
Lauren is a strong advocate for charter schools and the educational choice, opportunity, and agency they provide families. She joined the Alpine Academy Governing Board in June 2026, bringing extensive educational experience, a passion for supporting children, and a commitment to serving the local community. She also has a personal connection to Alpine Academy through a family member who attends the school and is thriving.
I am excited to be a part of the board for this amazing school! I have worked in the Accounting/Finance field for 30+ years – including large telecommunications firms, a “Big 5” consulting firm, and finally in my own small business. I have an MBA, and have taught Business, Finance and Accounting at the college level.
I’ve also previously served on the board of a charter school, as well as the boards of some non profit organizations. I look forward to being involved in the Alpine Academy community, and to learning more about the school and the programs it offers.
Sundae Eyer serves as a member of the Alpine Academy Charter High School Governing Board. As a licensed educator with experience working in Nevada’s charter school community, she brings a valuable classroom perspective to the board’s discussions and decisions. Sundae is committed to supporting high-quality instruction, responsible school governance, and an educational environment in which every student feels valued and has the opportunity to succeed. She is proud to serve the Alpine Academy community and contribute to the school’s continued growth.

I have lived in Reno, NV for the past 3 years. I have 2 husky dogs that I love to walk, hike with and explore the beautiful trails here in Nevada. I have worked in education for the past 25 years and I’m currently an Instructional Assistant at Pinecrest Academy in Sparks, NV.
It is my honor to serve as a board member for Alpine Academy high School. Serving on the board is fulfilling my desire to give back to the community and ensure the goals, policies and visions of Alpine Academy are effective and successful. My belief is that every student deserves the highest quality of education possible and that they will be valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential and be successful.
